Matías discovered his passion for high-altitude mountaineering in his home region of Atacama in northern Chile, a renowned hub that attracts adventurers from across the globe. Since 2013, he has been scaling peaks that rise over 6,000 meters. With more than a decade of experience as a dedicated mountain guide, ensuring the safety of his companions remains his utmost priority.
In addition, he became an internationally certified ski instructor in 2021, allowing him to share his love for snow sports with others. He also served for four years in the Chilean Mountain Rescue Service, "Socorro Andino", where he gained vital skills in emergency care for mountain accidents.
