Dream Now Travel Later!
The SPONDYLUS team is following very closely the worldwide pandemic situation, being respectful of the restrictions that have been imposed by the national health authorities. We are looking after ourselves, and trying to face the new challenges with a positive and flexible attitude.
At the moment, the head office in Santiago is closed. Hans is working from his home in Caldera, a Northern Chilean coastal city, as well as Jean Claude & Rodrigo who live in Santiago, and Adriana who is in San Pedro de Atacama. Amongst the four of us we are in constant communication via regular video conferences.
This way we can make better use of our time during this very unusual situation we find ourselves in, adapting to very complicated circumstances and planning for the future that lies ahead of us, when once again we look forward to getting together and sharing experiences.
During these weeks, we are adjusting our protocols to the new sanitary situation. Regarding this point, we follow the instructions of the official institutions to train ourselves on these matters. Since the actual scenario is still constantly changing, at the moment it is not possible to define a new final protocol for the coming 2020/2021 season. Besides this, we would like to share with you already a few of the concrete measures that we have formulated to help each traveller when planning to participate in a SPONDYLUS travel experience, especially for those of you who have had to postpone your travel plans.
Hoping to see a favourable evolution of the situation, we will implement the following measures:
We adapted our sales conditions to be 100% flexible with the reservation process. We will refund all the down payments received by us, in the case a trip needs to be cancelled due to a disease or causes of force majeure of any kind.
In all trips that include camping, we will offer a single tent without any additional cost to each client who so desires, and this will contribute to producing an adequate distancing between participants.
After each expedition, all of the equipment will be disinfected: tents, common equipment, vehicles, etc.
We will provide sanitization and disinfection articles to each participant during the trip: hand sanitizer, chlorine, disinfectant wet wipes, disinfectant sprays (Lysol, Lysoform) that will be available in all of the vehicles used.
With these and other measures, we are trying to guarantee the maximum possible health security, and wellbeing for all our clients during trips and expeditions. Being mountaineers, we know that an absolute security does not exist but as always, our objective is to minimize the possible risks involved in all activities included in our trips.
In a way of finishing this informative letter, the Spondylus team would like to invite you to carry on dreaming about the fantastic South American landscapes that enrich the spirit of each traveller that loves interacting with nature. Soon we will get back to organizing our travel equipment, checking our backpacks, and once again walking a new path.
